a thanksgiving blessing
Kami contacted me about a photo session for Christmas cards and she had noticed from my website that I specialize in children, but occasionally I do portraits of adults, too. They’re a beautiful couple – and Ben was such a good sport. We all know most men detest having to sit in front a camera for more than two shots. He was so good – while I snapped about 100 pictures. :) Thanks, Ben – and Kami!
We moved a picture of Abraham Lincoln so it wouldn’t be in this shot but George Washington is looking down on them.
A few Christmas Card samples -
December 1st
is the deadline for cards and prints to be delivered in time for Christmas. I have pushed that back a bit in an attempt to accomodate everyone. I’m working on getting some other pictures up soon. There just don’t seem to be enough hours in the day – especially not this time of year.
Here are a few images of my niece with my sister-in-law and brother-in-law. She’s quite a little character – just turned two yesterday.
Then Maddy ran to Braden and I was able to capture a sweet moment between two cousins

veteran’s day
Our family spent the day at the beach while reflecting on all the servicemen and women that have made sacfrices for our country. I am proud to live in America and I am so very thankful that our soldiers work diligently to keep our country safe, past and present. Thank you soldiers and vets, from the bottom of my heart.

What should we wear?
Usually when someone books I session, I am asked what they should wear. Because of this, I decided to make a clothing guide with some suggestions for children – adults, you’re on your own! Really though, browns, creams and greys are great neutrals that you can match up with other solids or patterns. When I say patterns, I do mean simple patterns - too many busy patterns can be distracting in photos. In planning for a session, I advise to parents find the perfect kids’ outfit and then see what they have that matches it. Jeans, jean skirts, and khakis are great basics for parents to start with. I also recommend staying away from white. When the entire family is wearing white, the white shirts stand out and take away from the gorgeous subjects. Feel free to bring a few outfits along to your session and we can mix and match to see what looks best. Also keep in mind that children are happy in clothes that are comfortable. If your child doesn’t normally wear big dresses with tights and she is more comfy in jeans, let her wear jeans! I will be able to capture a child that is happy and content rather than a child that is uncomfortable and cranky.
